PostgreSQL Database Administrator
Cooperation with development teams in order to optimize the use of the database layer.
One of the flagship products of Redge Technologies is the Redge Media Portal, which we created from scratch, which consists of cross-platform applications for TV over the Internet (OTT). We offer our clients the constantly developed Redge Media Portal in the white-label model and you can find it using websites such as player.pl, playnow.pl. go3.tv, play.tv3.lt, vod.pl. We work using our deep technical knowledge, elements of agile methodologies and common sense. We focus on continuous and iterative improvement of our products, ensuring the highest quality to provide reliable, convenient and modern applications that will allow you to watch the next episode of an addictive series or a match of your favorite sports team.
Responsibilities:
— Tuning the hardware, network and software configuration to increase the scalability and performance of the database layer,
— Cooperation with development teams to optimize the use of the database layer by finding and proposing areas for optimization,
— Expansion of the existing application monitoring systems in order to increase the transparency of the functioning of database applications,
— Proposing and implementing database performance and scalability monitoring tools as well as tools for analyzing and monitoring performed SQL queries.
Requirements:
— Minimum 3 years of experience in administering PostgreSQL database environments,
— Knowledge of high availability, high scalability, data replication, data backup & restore solutions.
Nice to have:
— Knowledge of database services offered in cloud computing solutions, e.g. in AWS,
— Knowledge of noSQL databases such as Redis or Elasticsearch.
