We implement projects co-financed from public funds
Innovative user redirection and real-time network status analysis system for a distributed multimedia content delivery network on the Internet, utilizing artificial intelligence and machine learning mechanisms to deliver higher quality content through optimized use of current network infrastructure.
Activities
The project involves R&D work aimed at developing a product innovation in the form of a user redirection system in distributed multimedia content delivery networks. This system will alternatively, using AI and machine learning mechanisms, simulate the current network status to enable real-time:
- Prediction of the throughput of individual routes and connections to end-users;
- Detection of bottlenecks;
- Detection of failures in remote segments of the network (far from the system operator).
Target Group
The product innovation developed within the project is targeted at operators of distributed multimedia content delivery networks on the Internet. It will first be integrated into the Redge Media CDN ecosystem.
The development of this system will optimize the use of the current network infrastructure, significantly improving the quality of video content delivered to the average end-user (enabling higher quality/resolution viewing, and smooth transmission while maintaining current connection bandwidth).
Project Objective
The project's objective is to create prototypes of innovative subsystems:
- User redirection.
- Network status analysis and monitoring.
>- In distributed content delivery systems on the Internet.
The developed mechanisms will predict and simulate the current network status based on data collected at the endpoints of connections to end-users (from content distribution system nodes and end-user players/applications).
This aims to optimize the use of current network infrastructure, thereby increasing the availability and quality of offered services.
This will allow multimedia content to be delivered to users in higher-quality profiles (with higher bit rates) within the existing physical network infrastructure.
Additionally, the systems for detecting and mitigating the effects of failures will be improved, both within the system operator's internal infrastructure and other network segments that mediate the transmission of data to end-users.
Project Results
The main result of the project will be the preparation of a demonstrator of a distributed content delivery system utilizing the developed mechanisms.
The research work will also produce prototypes of:
- A distributed system for the acquisition and aggregation of network connection data.
- A system for classifying connections and network routes.
- These prototypes will allow for the evaluation of the algorithms and models developed during the research.
